What is facial massage?

Facial Massage is an art that dates back many, many years with roots in centuries-old Ayurvedic practice and powerful results – a reduction in puffiness, an uplift in the firmness of the skin, a release of any tension in the face and that covetable healthy, rested glow.

With immediate feel-good results along with long-lasting benefits that reduce stress, combat fatigue and elevate both face posture and overall wellbeing, a Moon Safari Facial Massage will leave you centred, rejuvenated, strengthened & detoxified. Natural Facelift Massage™ / Facial Rejuvenation Massage is a transformative experience which noticeably benefits the nervous system, skin tone, facial lines and circulation, resulting in a relaxed, youthful and glowing appearance.

I can’t describe how deeply relaxing Cheryl’s facial massages are. I don’t think I have ever been in a more meditative state! I’m now thinking this is the best gift voucher I could ever give a good friend.

… it has made a
deeper impact on my skin

how it

Facial massage explained.

Put simply, facial massage works to stimulates circulation, improve blood flow which in turn brightens and firms skin. It also aids cell turnover and removes any trapped fluid (read: puffiness) and toxins that might have pooled under the surface. All of this equates to a very good looking complexion.

A key target in facial massage is the lymph nodes. When these areas become blocked, lymphatic drainage becomes sluggish, which leads to a puffy, dull complexion. Likewise, the act of manipulating and massaging the skin means increased blood flow to the area, which means more oxygen and nutrients. By stimulating the skin, it stops being so lethargic and kick-starts your fibroblasts to produce more collagen.

Another benefit is exactly what you’d expect from a massage: a release in muscle tension. We all have so much more tension these days, especially in our jaws, when you work away those knots and tensions, you experience a noticeable uptick in the firmness of the skin.

Nervous System.

Touch has a direct and immediate influence on our state of mind and on our emotions with even the lightest of touches registered by the brain. The gentle, repetitive and targeted moves of the rejuvenation massage calm and sooth the nervous system and assist to balance and calm both the mind and the body.

Skin Tone.

The rejuvenation massage restores skin suppleness and flexibility by releasing & toning collagen and elastin fibres in connective tissue. The tissues regain freedom and elasticity, delivering more youthful glowing skin.

Facial Muscles.

With day to day stresses we can hold muscular tension in our face. This can reduce the vital supply of oxygen & nutrients to the skin and restrict the vessels, which carry blood & lymph to and from the tissues.

A build-up of toxins on the face can make it look saggy, puffy, dull or grey. Massage encourages better lymph drainage to remove these toxins and help your skin regain a healthier appearance.

I have just completed a series of 6 Rejuvenating Face Massages.  The weekly facials brought me gentle reminders of the tension I held in my face and to bring consciousness to continue to release this tension in the week that followed.   There was a sense of connectedness and calm that came with the touch to my skin and the rhythmical sequence.  I know that it has made a deeper impact on my skin, which feels alive and replenished, and on my spirit, which feels lighter and carries a greater sense of calm.

I can’t recommend Cheryl’s delightful company, warm energy and gentle healing hands highly enough.

Thank you, thank you!

I felt tired and stressed beforehand and much calmer and lighter in energy afterwards, I experienced a flow of energy through my face and to the whole of my body.

The next day when I woke my skin felt plump and almost bursting.  My partner remarked that my face looked ‘relaxed’ immediately after the treatment and again the day after.

I’m used to traditional massages that target your back and shoulders, so I was looking forward to seeing how I would feel—and look!—after one that focused on my face and neck.  After the treatment I got up feeling like I’d just woken up from a long, rejuvenating nap, and I instantly noted that my face was glowing! Recalibrated. Younger! The image that stared back at me at the end of my 60-minute session left no room for skepticism. My cheeks appeared higher, my jawline sharper, my eyes clearer. A FAR superior result than any of my previous (and brutally expensive) skincare regimes. I’m hooked! Thank you Cheryl!

I can’t describe how deeply relaxing Cheryl’s facial massages are. I don’t think I have ever been in a more meditative state! I’m now thinking this is the best gift voucher I could ever give a good friend.

I felt a noticeable wave of sensation travel across my face as the facial was happening and the calming and enlivening continued well after the treatment. Like meditation!

Five stars! I love this treatment!

I have been seeing Cheryl for a year now, and I walk in feeling tired and looking saggy around the face. I walk out feeling calm, revitalised and looking wonderfully refreshed. I feel like all my cares and worries are ironed-out, along with the wrinkles.

Cheryl is a Moon Goddess with a magic touch!

Meet the Ayurvedic Facialist With a Massage Technique So Good, You May Cry

Consider facial massage a super-luxurious nap while your muscles are manipulated, your heart rate lowered, blood flow increased, collagen regrowth promoted, circulation increased. Because sometimes we all just need a second to get our shit together.

Facial massage: what you need to know and why you should be doing it

It’s about time we started recognising the face for what it really is: a complex mass of sinew and muscles, hidden beneath our well-looked after skin. Not pretty, but like any other part of the body, as with your desk-ravaged shoulders and back, this complex system of muscles holds stress and tension. Sometimes a face cream just doesn’t cut it when you’re overwrought and under-slept. Trust the beauty gurus of this world, then, to never miss a beat and present us with a solution: facial massage. Every bit as pleasant as it sounds.

The benefits of facial massage

There comes a point during most facial treatments where you’re lulled into such a blissful state of relaxation that you naturally doze off for a few minutes—but you’re still reaping all the glorious anti aging benefits. Just like the rest of your body, facial muscles require exercise to keep you looking younger (sorry to add to your workout routine!).

Meet the Ayurvedic Facialist With a Massage Technique So Good, You May Cry

[Facial massage is a] simple, holistic approach to the kind of anti-aging treatment one might find at a medical aesthetician’s office, where Botox injections, LED lasers, microdermabrasion tools, or cryotherapy chambers more typically abound. Based in Ayurveda, an ancient Indian practice that translates into “the science of life,” it starts  with acupressure on the face and neck so to stimulate blood flow beneath the surface. Then, a massages of the entire face—first horizontally, then vertically, so to manipulate each tissue thoroughly—spending time in the trouble areas. If we can physically resculpt the body with muscle work we do at the gym, then why not the face?

Is a Facial Massager the Secret to Firmer, Tighter Skin?

There’s something simultaneously relaxing and invigorating about facial massage; I always suspected that it was great for my skin, but it turns out that it’s even better than I previously thought. Take it from dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon Dendy Engelman. “There are many benefits to frequent facial massages. It’s a short addition to one’s skincare routine that greatly enhances the skin’s appearance.” Plastic surgeon Melissa Doft agrees: “Facial massages can be helpful in increasing blood flow, leading to decreased puffiness and improved circulation,” she says. “Patients find that they appear more awake and radiant.”
